A few simple rules
WHY I STARTED THE COMMUNITY CENTER & THE BOARDS
I started this all the forums to give folks a chance to connect & talk about vintage hydroplanes & raceboats. These boards are about sharing information. Caution - during your visits, you may just rekindle old friendships or start new ones.

WHAT CAN I POST
If it was built to race on water and has a motor, our boards are here for discussions of that. I don’t care what you post as long as it’s in the proper section. Topics can include such things as - restoration tips & advice, historical inquiries of the boats, drivers, owners or the crews, past races or upcoming events, posting photos & videos, stuff for sale & needed.....whatever comes to your mind. Even topics about what the current race boats are up to are welcome.

A FEW SIMPLE RULES

  1. NO cheap shots, personal attacks, fighting.
  2. Sign you post with your REAL name. (We like to know who we're talking to).
  3. NO discussions about any past (or future) transactions on boats or boat parts.
...and it almost goes without saying, but NO pornography or racist posts. It's a shame I even have to go here........but here it is:
  • Moderation is simple. I reserve the right to edit anything at my discretion.
  • Please THINK before you post. I've seen too many good boards go downhill because of postings of misunderstandings & hurt feelings. I will not allow postings by trouble-makers. And we all know when someone starts to become the self-appointed, ill-mannered, know-it-all who’s main goal is to criticize, fight & cause trouble.
  • These boards are NOT the place to discuss your displeasure with the APBA or CBF Vintage & Historic representatives or the rules that get made & enforced. If you do not like what the organizations are doing, the proper way to get things changed is to become a member and work to fix the things you are opposed to. Your best bet is to try to change things by having discussions directly with the V&H chairmans and/or the regional reps or ANY vintage boat organization for that matter.
  • There is lots of styles of raceboats. We know that folks who owned, raced or drove the different types of raceboats sometimes didn't like the other folks and/or their boats. I.E. - flatbottom folks didn't like the hydroplane folks, or vice versa, or off-shore or outboards...or whatever kind of race boat. Although our boards have leaned towards the inboards (and mostly hydroplanes) side of the fence, we like & admire & tolerate all types of fast water transportation....(well, with the exception of maybe, one...those tricycle pedal boats. We hate those things!)
  • If you have something to sell, boats or parts, feel free to post in the proper section. If you're not interested in what someone posted for sale, just go on to the next post. Please don't go on a tirade... it's not your job. I don't mind people sellin' their stuff, advertising their shop, talents, even shirts, decals, buttons, etc., but if that's the only reason you post here & you're not contributing, I'm probably gonna delete your posts. Sorry, but our sponsors pay BIG money to bring you and keep these boards an advertising free zone.
I know that some of the boat folks can be very spirited people & as such will disagree, please just don't let it get out of hand. If you start trouble, the entire thread will be vaporized. This is not my forum, it's OUR forum! Cause trouble, you're out, plain & simple.
Lastly, kids are our future and are welcome here and should never be subjected to improper language & or behavior.....and the rest of us shouldn’t be subjected to it either.     If you think you can’t abide by these few simple rules...............then just leave.

SO NOW WITH THE 'DRIVERS MEETING' OUT OF THE WAY.....LET'S HAVE SOME FUN
Feel free to join right in. No one will ridicule or flame you just because you are new here or just for asking a simple question. We're all here to learn, share & have a good time. You don't need to join or LOG in to do so. These are public boards!
But if you would like to post photos via photobucket (or most any other photosharing website) into your post.....or
if you want to have some editing capabilities with your post, joining & logging in to Network54 (our board's host)
will give you some of those.
Thanks for reading through this.
