It was built as a tribute to his many achievements in boat racing. Competition  record  54.9 at Chestertown, MD in 1965.   Straightaway  record  of  69.7 in 1966 Norristown, Pa. Straightaway & Competition speed records that stood for 8 yrs. [only broke by a boat  with a larger engine under the new rules].
