Came To Play A-150
A 150 Came To Play
This A class vintage hydroplane is a 1967 Lauterbach that was originally built by Henry for Rudy Gurley from Hampton Va. as Rudy's Comet A-47. In 1971, with a fuel injected Buick V-8, Doc "Flaky" Davis ran it as Doc's Rocket and won the 2.5 liter Modified National and World Championship in Dayton, Ohio. In 1976 running as Sunbird in Norfolk, Va. Jim Browning flipped and the hull was rebuilt by Henry as Steve Houims Came To Play.

A-150 Came To Play
In 1992 while looking for Buick motor mounts at the Valleyfield Regatta, Bill Fisk met Dave Brouse of Ogdensburg, NY . Dave said he had the mounts, but a boat and engine were attached to them, Hmmm !!! Bill purchased A-150 from Dave and ran it for the first time at the 1992 Clayton Raceboat Regatta. What a ride !!! For the last 6 years we have run the boat at many events: Valleyfield, Detroit, Clayton, Kingston & Lowell, Mass. It's a real "HOT ROD!"
