High Society S-96

My father, Bill Steinfield is a retired driver from the 1950's.
Although he joined the APBA in 1951 racing outboards, he moved up to the 136 class.
In 1955, he had 3 different hydro's during the time he raced, 2 Sooy's and 1 Lloyd. His most successful campaigns were in 1958/59 with a 1954 S-Class Sooy powered by a V8 60 Page Hamilton engine.
In 1959, he finished 2nd in the APBA National Point Standings and won quite a few races including wins at New Martinsville and Elizabeth City.

We recently purchased a Sooy in Nebraska located by Tom Death and had Larry Lauderbach restore it as High Society. I have several photo's of the restoration and the finished boat has only been seen at Mt Dora and Buffalo.

I plan on displaying and driving the boat at 2004 Clayton this year.
