  • We have 6 new sponsors and 2 renewing sponsors, stepping forward to help our cause:
  • Jeff "Nemo" Buckley - BOATHOUSE MARINEWORKS - our website's first sponsor! If you remember, he started all this by "buying off" those pesky pop-up ad's on the messageboard.
  • Bill Fisk - Great shot of Bill driving the Irishman at Buffalo 2003. Is there a vintage event he and Judy and one of his rides doesn't attend? A true gentleman to the sport.
  • Alan Radue - Alan & Radue Pit Crew have the Agitator and this website fully supported. Who's that carrying the load?....Alan is also the APBA "media guy" for vintage & historic.
  • Randy Wold - Randy and his vintage & current Cumon Baby. Thirty one years later and he retires rom his day job and starts racing again! A true hero....
  • Bill John - Bill & Donnie of THE VINTAGE RACE BOAT SHOP and the beautiful Obsession! Two ambassadors that put on alot of mileage to promote the vintage cause at many an events and Bill also puts in many hours as webmaster at The New Hampshire Boat Museum. My favorite stop on the www.
  • Steve Ladino - The absolutely stunning Miss Sapphire has renewed his committment to help. I think we need to get a new photo of Steve and MS running on the water. Somebody send me one.
  • TOF Racing - Fred Schearer, Phil Mitchell & Bob Leckner - Fred's boat, Avenger restoration is looking so nice. I'm sure, their first of many vintage hydroplanes these former racers will have in the stable.
  • Jerry Field - Former restorer and owner of Happy Buddah. Jerry will have a card as soon as he sends me a background image to use.....hint...hint

Jan 3 Website Update:
We are fast approaching our 3rd anniversary for the website.
I thought another "state of the vintage website" speech was in order.

Contributions of information to the website and visitor counts have never been better. I wish to express my sincere appreciation to all who have took the time to send in photos, race programs, Propellers, magazines, newspaper articles and videotape. This is really solidifying what I've thought all along. Vintage Boat Racing is a growing class. Our visitors to the website have increased from 5,000 visitors a month at my last "speech" to just over 6,000/month. We have a great group of people who really are passionate of this sport and getting the information out there to all. I know the momentum will continue.

As more restoration projects continue, I hope for the best to those who labor the love of bringing one of these former racing hulls back to glory. We could also use some more articles in that respect. I, personally, would really like to see more technical articles written. Your experience can go a long ways in helping others who are about to begin this journey. Please consider authoring a subject. I recently received an email asking for help with this subject matter. I thought there was some great ideas for those of you who are interested in that respect. I have posted that email to the Technical Article's Table of Contents. Please look it over and if you see an topic that you can help out on, please do.

Now, I also have a plea to anyone who would like to help. The website has again reached it's next level of capacity of server space. Our website is now just under 50 MB of information. You probably haven't noticed, but a few items have been eliminated from the website in an effort to keep our server space below this limit. I really hate doing this, as I want to see the website continue to grow as a functioning library and promoter of vintage boat racing. I will soon be increasing this server space when "push comes to shove". If you would like help defer some of these cost, this site is now looking for sponsors. Jeff (Capt Nemo) Buckley was our first sponsor and his generous gift is now bringing you the messageboard ad-free for all of 2003, along with a few additional perks. If you're looking for parts or restoration supplies, please give Jeff a call, let him know you saw his ad on the website and patronize his business.
Now, if you would like to see this website continue to grow....consider a monetary contribution. I'll build you a recognition card recognizing you as a sponsor of this website!
