ROAD RUNNER Y-88

Art McDougall raced several 48 ci and 850 cc hydros from 1954 to 1976.
ROAD RUNNER Y-88 was built by Henry Lauterbach, probably during the winter season of 1956-1957. It was one of two sister hulls built at the same time. One was bought by the great Frederick C. "Doc" Moor and the other was bought by Buddy Cox. ROAD RUNNER Y-88 is now owned and was restored by Ray Maloney. Ray also owns and restored Go Go Girl E-42, and another 48 ci class, Aimless Lady. Brother Steve owns Little Big Man Y-52

The next few photos were taken at 2003 Mount Dora ACBS show by Lew Darr, Steve Maloney and Art McDougall.

The Road Runner Y-88 has been restored by Steve and Ray Maloney, and was exhibited at the recent Mt. Dora Antique Boat Show.  I was able to attend again this year and spent my whole time admiring their work and meeting old racing friends. Steve took a bunch of pictures at the event and had this comment "Glad you were able to make it and reunite with Road Runner and alot of old friends and fans.

Note me in my 40 odd year old Y-88 shirt sitting on the electric scooter alongside the Road Runner.
