Agitator E-70

To the best information obtained she must of been a Fred Wickens kit boat put together by a Dr. Deloite Wolfe from Missoula, Montana and built in 1964 and raced in the old Region 17. After the doctor had it, it was sold to Jim Mathew and raced out of Calif.

Restoration

It was a 'barn find' and Harlan Orrin acquired it, cleaned it up and put a deck on her and then sold it to Doug Whitley in Jan 2007.
The bottom along with the right side non-trip needed to be replaced and the sponsons were falling off.
The shaft log and rudder bracket are embossed with the name Wickens and the cowlings are signature Wickens.
However, I'm told that Fred's woodworking craftsmanship was impeccable and his glue joints remarkable.
This is not the case with this boat, which then tells me 'it must of been a kit'.

It has a ribbon mahogany deck (needs a few more coats).

Doug Whitley previously owned the boat and Jon Courtright & crew bought her and have elected to rebuild her and run it in vintage class.
